MPC and Sound Modules

I have the MPC 2500, along with the Roland Fantom XR (rack) and the Yamaha Motif ES (rack). I want to be able to assemble my songs right on the MPC. Meaning, I want to handle my drums/samples on the MPC, then play (sequence) my keyboard sounds (from the Fantom & Motif) on the MPC also. Once all of that is complete, I'd like to run the already arranged song to my computer (software), to then add vocals, scratches, etc.

Right now I have the Roland Edirol UA-25, which is only 2 audio inputs (1 midi in, 1 midi out). Between the MPC, the Motif, and the Fantom, that's 16 outputs (MPC 8, Fantom 4, Motif 4). So if I wanted to record all 16 tracks at once to my software, are there bigger interfaces that can handle all of that? If so, which one's are good? Or, it was suggested that I go the Firewire route, which I know less about.

Any insight, or recommendations would be appreciated.

You have several interfaces for that. Plenty of good ones, but what I would recommend you depents on what u're looking for and what your budget is. U can buy an interface, or u can buy an external mixer with firewire USB(2) transport. Some of them double as a daw controller. Althought all the interfaces and mixers are universal, most of them are designed to cooperate with a specific Daw. So it really depents on what you look for.

I would recommend you an M-box or something from digidesign (they come with protools). But for these u pay high price.

Go check some online stores and search for further info of the products you like.

Wow, mannyd. You're pretty good as well. Ur knowing that many audio outputs can't possibly be handled by an itty bitty Edirol. Get a bigger interface. Look around at different interfaces, choose one that does what you want it to do, maybe choose one that does a little MORE than you want it to do cause in the future you might need more when you learn more and expand more.

It's your money that will be spent, put some thought into it and choose wisely.

I've posted several firewire speed comparisons onn the boards, find one, find them all and check out the speed
charts I got from around the internet. Read up on firewire so you know what your getting into.

Can't this be done with a multi channel Mixer.... I know it makes it alot harder to track out, but that seems like an ez way to get it done... I would think..... Ireally have no clue....
