Like, Oh, I can't get signed cuz I have a 1k and not a 2kxl, but now because this and this producer has the same mpc, I can now drop those fat tracking beats and get signed by def jam.

Different MPCs produce different sounds from the same sound. Some are warmer than others. It all depends on what you like. I'm not sure if anybody can tell what sort of machine a beat was made on just by hearing it, but some people still say they prefer the sound of certain MPCs over others.

i realize that it is a geeky thing... but sometimes i like knowing what gear was used on a particular album... i am not basing my gear/setup decisions on that, but it's cool to know in-depth details about the recording process when it's an artist you support.

i don't get why people are challenging this post. like "i dont get it why do you care?" if you dont get it then you obviously dont need to be typing in this thread. he's just sharing something he found out. take it for what it is.

now here's my post:

oh, cool.

see how easy it is?

I know, but still it's not the type of machine u use, but how ur creativity controls the machine that's responsible for one's production quality. If I can't produce shit on a 1k, I still can't produce some on let's say an mpc60, eventhough a lot of guys prefer that one for it's gritty 12 bit sampling.

true that, especially 'not basing my gear decisions on that'

Yo educatedhands, I tryed to make my point across, but maybe acted a lil bit too fierce.

Anyway, just wanna say, I also like to know who works with what kind of equipment. But still it's the man who controls the machine. Not vice versa.

grow a mustache like large pro

then you run your thumb and finger thru it before you start hitting pads

now everytime you hit a pad you will get the large pro sound

It looks like it or a Rhode NT2. 2 of the best mics ever. The Rhode was about $500 while the U87 was like 2,700 last time I checked.
