Sampling from CDs???????

Sampling from CDs???????

Hey all, sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm new to producing. I know the tradition is to sample from vinyl records, but I was wondering if it's possible to sample from CDs on any model of the MPC, and if so how?

Main reason I'm asking is cuz an aquaintance of mine gave me a copy of his band's album on CD (it's like a mixture of jazz and funk), and he doesn't have it pressed up on vinyl at all. I've heard a few dope sounds on it that I wanna try and flip, and I need to know how one would go about sampling from a CD with an MPC (any model) if it is possible to do so.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

get a cord that can be hooked up from the standard cd player line (1/8" i think) to a 1/4" plug thing (don't know the word for it-- input maybe?).

Or copy it to your computer and dump it to the MPC via USB...... :roll:

Not all mpc's have usb though.

i swear i cant believe how many times this question gets asked. why did you buy a sampler. Thats equvilant to buying an xbox 360 and saying well ive been playing xbox live games are there other means of playing video games on the xbox? Or my controller broke does that mean am i able to use another controller with it?
ugh
or i bought a turntable to play my LP's do i need another turntable to play 45's? or can i do it on the same one?

Get a cd player with left and right audio cables, put those cables coming from the CD player and input them into the "RECORD IN" Plugs on your MP. Done
