The maximum output from the MPC to Protools, going through the Digital SPDIF cables is very weak. It only goes about halfway up the volume meter. Anyone know why this happens, how to turn the signal up? With the digital outs, the output is independent of the Main Volume Knob on the MPC, or the REc Gain knob.

Midi is data not audio signal.

spdif out is digital, main volume is analog, so you can't control the volume while using spdif. it's like that on many other peices of gear also.

specs between rca and digital coax are different. figure out the specs and use the correct cables. just cause they have the same connector doesn't mean that's what it was designed for.

maybe your samples are just low in the first place.

maybe you have an effect on the master that is making everything low.

maybe take a look at your computer also.
