I am having problems with my MPC 1000 giving me a message of WRONG FILE when I try and load samples with wave ext. I have some DVDs from Big Fish that I really like but I am getting frustrated cause I can't load them. Help in a hurry, Please.

they need to be 16 bit 44.1 kHz

if its not the file format, it could be the buggy akai os - im sure people were complaining about some akai formatting problem givig 'wrong file' messages, but i could be wrong.
do a search for 'wrong file' it comes up quite a lot and could help....

I got it figured out. It was the bit rate. MPC 1000 and 2500 only read 16 bit. I got it dithered down and now I am groovin'!

It's the bit rate. MPC 1000 and 2500 only read 16 bit. MPC 5000 reads 24. You need to load it in an audio editor and dither down to 16 bit.
