Honestly, who has the best drum sounds?

I've bought crappy kit afer crappy kit. Where can I find the drum sounds all the pros use??? Those good woody snares, foul ass 808's, high qualty hats...point me in the direction!

most of the pro's dont use store bought kits.

Store boughten kits and drums can sometimes be cool but alot of'em are like those 99 cent micro wave dinners(which aint bad) To get those real drums you gotta get grandmas and moms home cooking for the authentic good stuff.

For those who say records , what artists ? genre? For those who say real drum kit , can i assume you guys all play live drums for your tracks? i doubt it....

people already have given real answers. go out a f*cking dig and stop being lazy. no ones gonna tell you every record that has dope breaks all over it. But...

but on the real take a note book or somethan and have a pen on you at all times so any time you hear a song with any good snares, kicks, breaks..etc Jot down the name of the song and build up your library.

Read liner notes. Investing in the entire Ultimate Breaks and Beats series probably isn't a bad idea. Most of the stuff on them is too dated to be used for anything, but you'll get an idea of where to start when you look at record stores or through your mom's records. Look for certain producers, writers, and record labels. When I see a certain record label oftentimes I know what to expect, or at least know if I can't sample anything from it -- it's at least a good record.

Study your favorite producers and what they've used. Things like that.

If you want it to happen in a week or two it won't. A lot of us have a musical knowledge that is the result of listening to all kinds of music for years from all different generations (sometimes cultures). Eventually you'll find your niche in all of this.

Samples packs and those who use them are lame.

I offered up some rare records with nothing but drum breaks on them. Your average drum break, like Funky Drummer and Skull Snaps have been used and are easily recognizable, but if you want those banging drums that nobody else got, you gotta dig & dig hard, or pay those who did dig hard.

Most of my best drums came from old R&B from the 70's. Your gonna have to dig and LISTEN. Most of my best drums came from little half second break downs....not full drum loops. Buying about 50 records a week, it took me about 4 years to have a good variety of drum sounds.

NOTHING COMES EASY

go to the off topic section and dl all the breaks that have been uploaded. Then just cut them up and do what you want.

thanks man...that fooL LAMPDOG thinks he's funny with thos answers. So does everyone else. I just got the dopest collection of drums and it wasnt from any of THOSE GAY ASS ANSWERS THAT WERE GIVEN
