noob question

hi together
read the manual, i know. still have two questions i couldn't find there:
1. how do i get out of the usb screen after unmounting on the mac. can't be that you have to turn off the machine...?
2. where is the os version displayed?

On your mac, drag the drive icon to the trash, then unplug the usb from the back of the mpc. Once the usb is unplugged you should be able to move out of the load usb screen.

As for the current version of OS, I don't know. I'm sure there is a global type screen that shows it...

I can't speak for previous versions, but with OS v1.04 you can hit [Pad 10] and choose the Global screen (F1). It will display the Version and Date of the current OS.

Good question - this might be good for the faq as well.

I figure I'll type this out in this thread since it's new guys and it won't piss the snobs off too much. A guy posted a thread the other day asking if you could use an external zip drive with a 1000 and a dude posted a link to the specs page BUT IT DIDN"T TELL YOU THERE EITHER. Can someone answer this question if it's not too much of a problem? Thx in advance.


PS: why is it that MPC 1000 is only compatible with OS X? Is there ANY way at all that I can d/l a plugin of sorts that will make it so that I can use it with 9.2 (classic)?

Again thanks in advance, I have read the manual cover to cover (I bring it to work with me everyday) and I haven't seen this answered.
