How much do you love your mpc2000/xl!!

For a while there I was lusting after a 3000 (well i still am to tell the truth) but i've come to realise that the 2000xl is a badass machine. 4 part multitimbral, great filters, i'm also rockin the eb16 and 8 outs and i'm freakin having a ball. 32mb memory is ample for the intelligent samplist. zoning, time stretch, beat looping ahhhh it goes on.
What a great machine we own!
Have many out there found it to be their favourite mpc of the lot?

yea bruh thats why i bought the joint! not too basic, not too over-featured

i wouldnt exactly call the LP filter great, it gets the job done though.

yeah true, fair call on the filter. You can get some cool effects out of the res and filter env though, like you say it does the job.

man i duno sometimes i wish i bought the 2000 tho, or a xl w floppy. i just want floppy so i can have kicks on one disk, snares on another, blahblah and then a beat a disk. I duno diggin threw floppys just seems cool lol. im ganna run out of space on this cf card someday and then have to come back to it for certain drums and it just seems like a hassle, id rather have floppys.

we're just trying to build up a bit of profile here in melbourne before we unleash the funky fury worldwide! a couple of the guys are finishing high school this year and after that we're going to put together an album and try and do a bit of a tour.

its probably a lot cooler in thought than in practice...
the floppies for my s950 are cool in one way, and sh!t in a LOT of other ways - slow, noisy, small memory etc..
I'm still rockin the zip on my 2000xl but i've been thinking about swapping to the mcd lately

No problem Homie... i grew up playing the trumpet and drums myself... but yea, yall sound good and like yall can do somethings, i like what yall got going on... keep going hard at it

Man, I'm freaking loving my 2kxl MCD, maxed out (I've got the SMPTE chip, word?). That machine coupled with ReCycle is deadly. I don't want anything else expect some vintage sound alongside (recently cop'd a 60mk1 and planning to get an EPS too).

Best of both worlds. That's the 2kxl. Never gonna sell it.

Just enough. Its not like its commited to a long-term relationship though.

It keeps skipping out when its time to buy the drinks.




In all seriousness I'm using the 950 more now and just using the MPC for MIDI and drums only (coz programming drums on the 950 is a pain in the arse!)

I absolutely love mine! First piece of gear I owned apart from two turntables and a mixer. Got it for a great friend price in absolute mint condition.

I got it just with 32MB expansion. Almost maxed it out (got the output board but haven't installed that one yet).

It's still the workhorse in my studio. I wouldn't trade or sell this machine.
