Knigston Value Ram Model# KVR 100x64C2/256 3.3V
Unigen brand also works.
Becareful installing the Memory, if lift the top of the MPC too high you can pull a white ribbon cable out. That ribbon cable is for the LCD display.
Also, be sure to take anti-static precautions. always handle the memory from the edges, if you touch chips on the memory, the oils on your hand can mess up the memory. BE CAREFUL!

The Kingston model that I mentioned are the ones I use. In fact they are the ones that I installed when I worked for Akai.

Thanks Reveal + Adrian.
Interestingly enough they are pretty much exactly half the price my local audio retailer (Digital Village West London) are selling memory upgrades for.
Cheers

Just a quick q on this while yes are talkin about it.does more RAM give you more sampling time. I have 16 MB at the min. I have 3 min 10 sampling time. Would it go up and if so roughly by how much. if i got another 16 MB would it give me 6 mins 20 if ive no sequences.
