chop shop on the xl?

is there a version of chop shop for the MPC 2000 xl?

Yes, it's called Zone mode.

There is no auto transient detection mode a la "chop shop" but zone mode makes it quick to cut up loops etc up to 16 chops at a time, and can then make a new program across the pads for you if you want

does zone mode take longer than chop shop?

considering the XL is like 10 years older, one might assume so.

recycle is a very viable alternative.

Yea normally I just use recycle and play with the sounds through battery, for me it just makes everything way easier that way. I'm too lazy to sit there highlighting in zone mode all day.

I've never used chop shop.. I still use my 2500 like my old XL. Works for me.
I keep hearing about how much faster it is.. I may try it out when I get home.
