Yo sorry i know this isnt a help section but i really need help with my mpc5000
Well im having problems with connecting my mpc5000 to my computer..
When i plug in my usb it says " new Harddriver found" then i try to instal it. But after a few secs it says that it cant find the driver, so i have some options. 1: search for a solution or 2: search the computer for the driver. Iver tried both of em and it says that no driver is found... I also went to akaipro site but they dont have a driver for it..

Any one had the same problem or anyone who can help me?

Sound like a problem with USB mass storage

This may be releated to your xp installation

Are u able to use external HD or USB sticks on your comp ?

I guess a format should solve the problem

Well i fixed it but thnx for replying.

BTW im very new to the MPC5000
I made a sample in one sequence, drum sample in track 1 and samples in track 2.
Anyone know how to set up the tracks, so it will be longer like copying the tracks.
I read the manual but its kind of hard for me to understand.

On your MPC, select MODE + DISK to enter disk mode. Select tab 4 "USB". Connect your MPC to your computer via USB. Select "MOUNT" on the MPC. Voila.

Once you have a sequence down, select "MAIN" to navigate to the main screen. Select the "SEQUENCE" field using the cursor buttons below the jog wheel. The "WINDOW" LED will light up. Push that. There will be an option to Copy. Select "COPY" and then select the new sequence you would like to copy to. If you wish to copy sequence 01 to sequence 02, select sequence 02. Select "DO IT". Now sequence 2 is exactly like sequence 1.

Also, it helps to read the manual. A lot. Learn it. Love it...or return it for an Alesis SR-16.

So your saying i have to make every sample in to each sequence?
I can do it. But there seems to be an easier way i think...

I explored in the demo's that are in the mpc already. Like StoneEnigma...
In that sequence it has 8 diffrent tracks that are played in diffrent times.
How do i do that?

Lets say you have a 1 bar loop with 4 tracks

Use SEQ EDIT to copy the BARS 4 times

Go to track 5 & record something at BAR 3

Here you are !

Tom is right, it's your OS. Make sure XP is updated to the newest service pack.

Aiight, I've got the brand new MPC5000 hooked up to my MacBook Pro. I have everything hooked up correctly. My Mac does not recognize the MPC hard drive nor compact flash. I've read the directions over and over. Tried different USB cables and nothing. Anyone have any suggestions or I'm sending this puppy back to the store.

Well what do you know. I turned the MPC5000 off and on again. Followed the USB connect and the compact flash and hard drive decided to show themselves, but only after about a minute or so since I hit the mount button.
