so i have my roland juno hooked up to my mpc 2000xl with midi and I started recording what I do on the keyboard to the mpc but I came across a problem where my keystrokes would record on the mpc but the sounds will not remain the same once I choose a different sound on the keyboard. The sound that was recorded first would automatically change to the new sound that I want to use next. How do I change it so that I can use and record all kinds of different sounds from my roland juno keyboard into one project on the mpc? appreciate it thanks!

your mpc is playing out those same midi notes as you recorded them. remember, audio is not recorded in midi notes.

when you are switching the program in your keyboard, even though you're playing a different sound, you're still hitting the same note as before to your mpc.

you could record the audio from the keyboard instead...

Is the juno mulititimbral?

If so, after recording use a different mpc midi track and different juno patch assigned to a different midi channel.

Dang, I just answered the same question for different gear yesterday, if that is your problem, sounds the same.

But if it's multi-timbral it's you, not the gear. Learn to change midi tracks and midi numbers every time you record new instrument.
