this is the best sounding unit i have ever had. was actually thinking about selling it a month ago to up some cash for a 4000. i loaded my moog set onto it and it instantly came off the sell list. the sound is so warm and true. never let it go

asr x pro is the table top version, you will NOT like the interface (think etcha sketch) or the pads (think hard plastic).

BUT, both are VERY warm sounding and some of the best machine effects you'll ever hear on gear that is not dedicated for effects imo.

I'm going to 2nd him on this, i copped the asr x pro 1st for like $200 bucks, sounded great but that shit pissed me off habitually. I hated those damn pads (cause I had touched mpc pads before), sold that shit and got the asr-10 afterwards.

I hate ASRX's sequencer and pads too,but sequencing it in the 4000 was the solution i guess.I'll never gonna let it go.

I bought the Red Pro new along time ago.
I mastered it & it was then easy to use.
It had the longest learning curve of any machine I've had.
It was awesome though I kept it for 4 years.
I think my pads started to die.
The knobs were cool.
The sequencer was harsh.
I remember using this long fx sweep sound that came on the unit stock.
I had to use it in all my beats to make the jump from sequence to sequence less harsh.

I doubt if I came across 1 today I could go back to those knobs & that screen.
My fingers would be raw every night I used that thing so much.
It is still bad ass imo. The 10 w/ the keyboard is way more popular though.

well the asr fam is dope on fx... for your sounds and it has a very nice sound to it as well!
i would say a asr 10 over a asr x just because the sequence and the internal sounds are not as friendly
and like lamp said the pads... carpel tunnel for sure!

plus the asr 10 is packed and stacked
