Well I recently copped a MPC-2000 classic at an auction in mint condition for $5. I had the same 2000 back in the day from 1998-2002, then it was stolen. After it was stolen, I moved on to the MV-8000 which is my weapon of choice now! Still I couldn't pass up the deal on the 2000 classic, plus I still had a large library of floppies (about 300) that were made with the 2000. So now I have both worlds at my fingertips and will never part with either machine!!!!

Back in '99, one of my troops had the MPC2000 and i was checking it out in his dorm room. It amazed the hell out of me how quickly he sampled a loop from a record, added some percussion samples from his External SCSI Zip and within 3 minutes had a bad azz beat playing.
He was the one that told me that if he had the money, he would get the new 2000XL that was going to come out. That day, I told my wife (actually... I asked, begged and then pleaded ) that I was going to get an MPC2000XL ($1200).
Since '99, it's been the lifeline for my DJ/Music production.

I had been wanting an MPC for YEARS!!! I could never seem to save up enough to buy one. I even saved up to 900$ and messed around and got impatient and bought an Emu MP7 . Then when I finally had the $$$, I found out about the 2500, so I saved up a little more and copped the 2500. Even after buying the 2500, I felt a void in my life. I felt deep inside that I needed an XL!!! A few months ago, I met a cat here on the boards who had an xl for sale/trade and so I made the deal. I rarely ever use the xl, I don't quite know how to work it but, the void has been filled and I would NEVER part with the xl. She's such a SEXy BYTCH!!!
