Pad6 (TRIM) Dead, muerte, dood!!

After having my MPC1000 JJOS3.08 red/blue for nearly 4 years (and using it intensivly i must say) lastnight finaly happend what i expected to happen for a long time, what i read about so much and always thought that shit dont happen to me!...
A dead pad, a dead pad6 so to say!!
Out of all pads that could have died on me.. why pad6!? I am nothing without the trim!!!!
I have opened up my mpc following some of the tutorials found on this page and took out the pad witch i also took apart, but nothing seemed to be wrong, all looks like if is in place, even the glued piece looks ok... as far as i can say how it looks ok that is

There is no otherway to access for example MODE+PAD6.. is there?
Should i buy new pad?... or sensor... ?
Im not a technical genius lets make that clear first hehe but I was thinking to try to put the wire of pad2(since it looks like it can reach it) into the connecter of pad6 and use pad2 to acces TRIM... or doesnt it work that way?

Ok nevermind people ... after checken anothertime the sensor, I must determin that that is it because the the black thing has some very small cracks right in the corners over where the silicon connects it... not enough to make it be lose... but they are there!
I noticed that the pad still worked afterall but only if I press with alot of force.
I changed the velocity now completly down to 1 because apperently thats the only way it works normaly (for now)... strange thing is that eventhough the velocity is set to 0... the indicator to the right shows like if it is being pressed with about 30%, while I aint touching it....

A Well, I got TRIM back for the time being
... but definatly time for a new pad... or two

Add yourself to the waiting list at VST or wherever you would like the new pad upgrade ordered from.
Eventually more of your pads will fail.
Replacing 1 or 2 individual pads is okay in the meantime, since you'll be waiting for the pad fix to become available. But it's crazy having to replace every individual pad, only to have them fail again in the future.

You can also just swap that pad for one that you rarely use. You don't have to resolder or anything, just exchange pads.
I spent quite a while trying to get those damn things to work. I am now one of the people on the waiting list... I plan to never go through that again.

Thanks for the tips... I know replacing pads won´t solve any future problems, but I don´t mind aslong as I can keep using my MPC daily I have ordered the pad fix at a dutch distributor so i gues its waiting time, untill then time i will do everything to keep my red&blue baby up and running.
Now the pad6 works completly as it should but yesterday something else occured....
As i was programming some stuff, suddenly ,... when i had highlighted "Pgm:" in the mainscreen... the datawheel didnt allow me to change the programs anymore.. while it did let me change all other things around it ..? it was just stuck on Program01 (and i realy did have several programs loaded!)
After switching on and off it worked normal again... but still...

It's the ghost of beats past... maybe you should go check out some of your older beats that you've let languish a little too long
