broke my flash rom?

i was making a beat last night and i found the sample i wanted, sampled it and chopped it up. then i realised i hadnt turned on my zip drive. so i wouldnt blow the fuse i tried to save all the chops to the flash rom so i could turn ithe mpc off and connect the zip drive. but when i went to save to the flash rom the mpc froze so after a few minutes i decided to turn it off and start again. when i turned it back on the os wouldnt boot from the flash rom so i booted it from a floppy. then when it was all up and running i wanted to fromat the flash rom so that i could put the os back on there. but now whenever i try to format the flash rom or load from it or save to it is says flash data error! and i cant do anything.

does anyone know what i need to do to fix it?
