3 things u hate about the 2500...

here are 3 things i realy hate about the 2500.

1.that big grey plastic data knob, what can that cost 5 cent? it looks so junk and cheap! look how nice the 4000 one looks.

2.the green screen just sucks plain and simple, why put a nice blue one in the mpc 500 and not in the 2500.

3.why wouldnt akai include a hard drive bracket thing, so u have to go buy that extra ?

My 2500 came with the hd mounting kit already inside of it. Yours didn't? It should have.

The only thing that really bugs me is that you can't apply a filter or an effect (to my knowledge) to an entire track.

Otherwise, I love my 2500, green screen, plastic data knob, 8 outs and all.

well that filter thing im sure if its not there our good friend jj could sort it out...

On the 4000 it's a plastic piece also. Wanna see ugly dials, check out the 1000 Rec and Main knobs...

all good mch, but you can seriously do something about two of the items on your list... you can install a blue screen and you can install a hard drive bracket if you don't already have it. no biggie man, but the 2500 is a great machine, what more could you ask for really?

you can sit down, pound out things just how you want on it and send your tracks out to the computer no sweat. i really love the 2500

could you get a data knob from a 4k and put it on?

I've had my 2500 for 5 days (my 1st mpc) and it rules!
I don't know how I got along musically without it for all these years

1)I dont like the way the 16 level has a tendency to pereodically freeze up...
Im sure its an OS prob and it happens rarely and randomly but its uncool when it does.
2)the lack of accessories for it.MPC stuff has had comming soon on its skin section for a LONG time.

That's a good thing, if we were all content... there would be no progression.

My complaints are in line with most here: Data knob does not feel like it belongs on a machine of this value and green screen could be blue... but still love it.

I hate the loudness of the click wheel. why couldnt they put some type of rubber feeling to it so its not so loud but you can still feel the clicks.

midi sync issues that still havent been fixeddd

1. It's not 24 bit, even though the 4k is ( and that came out before the 2500, mind you)

2. Max sample rate is only 44k

3. Lack of wave synthesis capabilities (I.E. not enough envelope controls and what not)

JJ OS2 adds full ADSR for the amp, filter, and pitch envelopes.
It's definitely worth the price just for that feature alone.
