I also have an idea for an audio chopper tool...similar to recycle...i have the audio code already written....if you are interested in doing a joint effort on an audio chopper...maybe making the interface and stuff (not to good at that)

:-)

Cheers

Well, over lunch here I just saved my first PGM file from my application. I looks like it worked fine, but I don't have my MPC at work to test it out. I'm going to try to finish it off as soon as possible, but I will do a bunch of testing before I release it.

I made an icon for it last night ;)

I'm as excited as everyone else to get it done ;)

Absolutely awesome, Stephen!!!!

The little MPC 1000 looks like it's coming into its own, thanks to bro's like Stephen. The icon looks great!.

And sumedho - great idea too.

I can't write software, but I see potential for a killer MPC 1000 app. A program that accepts VST or AU plugins, with a timestretch, and the program maker. Like a little software frontend, similar to Ak.Sys.

Definitely. The source code for the application will be freely available. And, when I get around to it, I'll document the PGM format.

Open source.. wheee!!! :D

Stephen is da man!

While im here... any news on that pgm you said you created with it? It's about time someone stepped up n made something like this.. makes me wanna learn to program (properly anyway.. i can do a bit)... wanna help sumedho out.. haha..

this looks decent!

oh.. and nice icon ;) cant wait to see it bouncing on my dock <- good job that weren't a typo

I thought I'd let people know what's going on with the app. I finished it off yesterday, and it seems to work just fine. But there are a few limitations with the current version:

- Can edit only one PGM at a time
- Can open PGM files from the application only (no double-click from Finder)

Instead of releasing an app with these limitations, I'm going to move the code over to a different project and make it a more "document based" style of application.

I think the wait will be worth it.

I agree. I'd rather wait till you get the quirks worked out. Don't rush it either Stephen! THanks.

Are you going to make it OSX or OS9? Please don't forget us 'classic' users. 8)

OS X only, sorry!

Mac OS X is really easy to program for. It also comes with free developer tools (which are also the best dev tools I've ever used). Mac OS 9, on the other hand, is a complete mystery to me. :(
