I'm trunning the fantom to my mpc and midi keyboard. I get sound but I cant add more than one sound at a time once recorded. Does anybody with the fantom rack know what setting in the fantom will allow me to run more than 1 midi channel at a time? Is it the Performance mode? Or can I do it in patch mode. In patch mode I can actually see the channels I cant see them in performance mode. the book says i need to use performance mode. But how can I? I cant find more than 1 available midi channel?

You have to use your Fantom in "Perfromance Mode"
just set up your tracks as you go down they should automaticly be set to the right be MIDI channels

in performance mode use the Layer/Split screen. Then press part view you will then be able to see the 16 channels.
I have a Fantom S not the rack so it might be a little different

Phedeks asked if anybody is running a Roland Fantom XR rack with the 1000. Thats the rack sound module of the Fantom-X not the workstation!

yeah it does but I still havent used that sampler. I just love my MPC so much becuase of the sampler and Sequencer. The older version of the Fantom didnt have the pads but it also didnt have the same sounds that the Fantom S does so I had to get the Fantom S

Word that worked 8) Its a little different but I figured it out thanks. One more question. How do you add effects thats what i'm really struggling with right now. I'd ask this on a fantom board but I cant find one.

http://forum.fantomized.info/?

There is a Fantom Board, they almost helped out as much as this forum did. But the effects are REALLY complicated at first. I would suggest reading through your manual first and then trying to go at it.

What's so hard about the effects on the FX? Pretty self-explanatory to me. What are you having problems with, the routing?

Why do people do this? I dont care if YOU know how to assign the FX it does me no good. I'm asking for help not whether you can work the fantom.

Why don't you read the whole post rather than having your ego so easily bruised? I asked you what you had problems with, hoping to help.

 oh yeah I forgot you can read my emotions over the internet sorry mrs cleo. Why did you feel the need to say its easy and self explanatory to YOU that wasnt my question. If you read my post you'd see what I was having problems with. I'm frustrated right now.

Actually I asked you what was so hard about the FX...and what specifically was your problem with the FX--was it with the routing? Those are questions directed at you. Like I said, I was just trying to find out what you found hard about it so I coul d help you out. Me saying that I find it easy shows you that I can help out with your problems. Instead, you got all butt sore about it, and apparently you still are.

I probably just read into it more than I should have while typing that I was messing with the fanton and got frustrated. Anyways I'm trying to figure how I can assign an effect to a selected sound.
