Alright, so I got my Yamaha MM6 hooked up to my MPC and one thing I want to know is, Is there a way that I can use the sounds from the MM6 without sampling them in? Like I lay my drum track down on the MPC, and then cue up the MM6 and use the sounds I want from it on an empty sequence without having to sample them (and assigning the sounds to pads and what not?)

I'm making the transition from Reason, I plan on integrating everything, but I wanna get this hardware down so I don't have to be so reliant on the comp.

thanks, that link was a lot of help. Got me understanding alot of things as well, but I'm still having an issue. I did everything in the thread, but I still can't hear the sounds from my MM6, am I going to need a mixer to be able to hear the sounds? or shouldnt I be able to hear the sounds from my current setup, I have the audio cables connected.

Yeah, you're gonna need the audio out of the MM6 running to something other than the MPC.

I've got my MM6 (along other stuff) going to a mixer, and the mixer goes to my audio interface box. Then the outputs of my MPC go to the audio interface box also. Then my interface outputs to both headphones and monitors.

For a simple setup, you could get a mixer, run the outputs of the MM6 and the MPC to it, and then plug monitors or headphones into the outputs of the mixer.

Hope that helps.
