Applying Filter/LFO effects to samples

Hey, how can I freak my samples in the MPC to get that ill "wah-wah" filter effect ? I messed with the filter in the slider menu and couldn't hear any effect at all when messing with the sliders. I want to be able to do it in realtime preferably. (I think that is the whole advantage of the MPC . . . doing stuff more "hands-on".)

I can apply this effect with Ableton Live very easily to my samples. I use the Auto Filter plug-in, adjust the frequency and LFO/S&H, and it works every time.

might not be what you're looking for, but you can apply a filter (like low pass) to the q-link and create a similar effect by moving it back and forth. record the automation to a track.

use high resonance and set the samples lfo to bandpass filter. plus you can add some sort of phase or flager.

You need to assign filters in program mode first before the qlink will have any effect.
The default filter is OFF: change this to LPF, BPF or HPF.

The qlink will adjust the filter around the initial cut off freq (also set up in program mode).

For example, if the initial cut off is 50, you could set the slider range to +50 and-50 to cover the entire freq cut off range (0-100).

so i am freaking the samples with the slider and adjusting the frequencies in what i think is called the global edit screen. but for some reason i am hearing a crackling, distortion noise when i slide the fader, although the rest of it sounds good. what is that? i do need to set my frequencies or filter types diiferently?

nevermind i found out that my bass was clipping in the sample thats why it was crackling and sounding like ass

thanks for that . i've had that problem - i thought one of my slider was screwed
