amazing craigslist deals sfbay.....

wow, what is going on. I mean basically this economy must be hurting people's pockets.....

first I copped a poly evolver rack for $400

today i picked up a nord lead 3 keyboard for $800

then i get home and there is a v-synth keyboard on there for $600 (hint----hint)......

if i wasn't sitting here with 2 brand new synths i would be on that one as well.

Be careful with Craigslist homie. You're gonna flowers around and get your ass kicked or jacked. Or BOTH!!! lol

got alot of gear on there, never had any probs... you just gotta have a lil common sense and be on your toes when you deal with strangers...

craigslist:

1 - never go alone
2 - if you selling, meet somewhere like a mall or park ( daytime )
3 - if you are buying, avoid meeting in mall or park ( lol so you can test it )


1 - once a guy was selling a asr10 met him in the bowling alley ( had a ac outlet to test ) when i got there he was with like 4 dudes bowling and harassing chicks, his man was like "you got the money?" I was like yo "who are you?" he was like " He want me to count it before he go get it from the car"

lol I was like " Homie, 1st Ima only talk to the seller, 2 my money is on me and so is my gun, 3 no one touching oney until i see this shit own and testing proper...at that point he went to get the guy sellig it but i just left and cancelled the prchase.

Yeah I don't have a gun, and definitely am concerned about getting jacked. Bringing that kind of money to meet someone you have never seen before seems a likely way to get robbed, I guess I have been lucky not to run into anything like you are talking about, but yeah use your head and meet in public.

I've been seeing alot of good deals too. I am just about to end my job so i can't really buy.


As for craigslist transactions, i have never had a single issue. First, i don't buy from somebody in a city i don't trust. You can find the deals elsewhere. I hate to say that but it is true. Second, talk to them personally before buying/selling. Ask questions and see if they are shady. I know people can come off differently but usually you can get a good idea of them. Lastly, meet in a place that YOU feel comfortable when buying especially as they are the ones getting money. Even selling if you can, if someone is down to meet whereever, chances are, you don't need to worry as much.

The only problem i have had is people who meet and then say, i only have $___ cash on me. I say go to the bank down the street. Then they inevitably pull out more money. This is always when it's an older white dude.

I basically wouldn't go to Richmond for example to meet somebody in there parking lot when they can only meet at 10. I won't go out to certain parts of Oakland, even Pittsburg with $500 in cash. Anywhere crime is bad, basically, i'd rather go to Walnut Creek or something and get the same deal.

Yeah Vallejo is another place where people are generally broke enough to take your money. plus the potholes out there will seriously **** up your car if you aren't careful.

Lol, no doubt. And i don't mean to diss where anyone lives, it's not that i will not go to these places, i just won't go to pay somebody i don't know with alot of cash.

I think most of the people who get jacked off of craig's list are going to see a prostitute or buy an iphone. Music gear is too small of a demographic to steal from, criminals would much rather advertise something they know they're going to have interest in (ie iphone). Obviously try to do it in a public place and test the shit before you hand over the money, but don't turn down a good offer just cause you're nervous about some fag with a keyboard robbing you. I was way behind on bills one month and I had to go up to the south bronx to unload my mackie 12 channel mixer to some dude at 2:30 am...dead ass...I had to make some deadlines and it had to be done.

I wasnt really shook about the whole thing until I rolled into dudes apartment and he's hooking up his discman to the thing taking like twenty minutes and getting the most horrible sounds out of channels until I showed him what was going on!

I had talked to bro on the phone like 6 times before I had agreed to it and everytime I talked to him I tried to convince him to come down to the bottom of brooklyn or at least meet half way. He kept coming up with ALL these excuse's everytime and was sounding kinda hood on the phone so I thought he was trying to scam and I would grill him on producing questions about this and that and was kinda of a dick.

But I eventually just had to take the risk, got my blade all loaded up in the pocket, got clocked lika a **** on the train on the way up, and actually got cab rides from the train to his place and back paid for by this guy...def had my hand on that boxcutter that whole time though!

craigslist has great deals am planning to buy a few things , but ill roll with my homie not by myself but ya great thread thanks for the advice
