128 ram load times

Akai is not going to help you buy ram from someone else but them, that's like asking them advice on loading akai samples in your MV-8800.

if the machine boots then the ram should be fine in theory. it could be a brand pickyness issue, because that does exist... try removing the ram addon and boot it the way it came without the upgrade. Does it still do a ram count? then try rebooting and check again.

I thought Nym had this problem and it was due to a stuck stop button or something silly like that.

oh really? ^ if you have any idea of where that post would be, i'd love to see it. i couldn't find anything on this ish from searches.

but if you could help me track down his post about this, i'd appreciate it.

oh hey - thanks poundaproblem! i really appreciate you digging this out. reading thru Nym's post, i haven't done any of the 'hands on' work he was doing (glue guns? dremels?!), but maybe something IS stuck down.

i may PM him to see if he has suggestions. thanks for the lookout tho. will keep y'all updated if i figure it out.

thanks for all this. nym & i were exchanging pm's and he had good suggestions. howevs, his prob was the sticky play button...my own does not seem to be that, as that fix soooort of worked, but not all the time.

i think it is just a ram compatibility issue (ie: brand, not type of RAM). for the time being i'm going to keep working with it (just start the box and leave the room for awhile) as i learn the 1000. eventually i'll need to pick up some more RAM and hopefully that alleviates this problem.

if anyone has a stick o' RAM that they know is compatible, and they wanna mail to canada, gimme a pm.
