I have this exact roland, it's great.

Your better off getting a 1k though. Save that money, add some extra and get a 1k.

Man, I miss my Roland XL. I traded for a Roland XP-60 though so it was a good trade.

What i would do is go to the nearest guitar center / sam ash or anywhere you an demo the 2400 , 5000 , and 1k. See which one you like. If you like the 1k get that one. If you like pads on the 2500 and dont have the dough for it get a 2000 or the xl is a tilted screen is a must . The best thing to go is really figure out for your self what features which MPC has and figure out which ones you really need.

I have the 1k , 60 and xl and right now i am lovn the xl. The mix between on board features , large pads and tilt screen is perfect for me.

Shame Roland never did make a sampling sequencing drum machine tho around the same time as the early Akais, Ensoniqs and Emus.

A sampling MIDI sequencing TR808/TR909 hybrid (genuine analog and lo-fi digital drum sounds), possibly using the sampling engine from the S series samplers (12 bit) and extending the grid edit of the TR drum machines with the OS from Roland's early hardware sequencers such as the MC50/300/500 ..

.. that would have been bad ass.
