Sequencing help please!

I'm having issues with sequencing on my 2500.

One of the issues I'm having is each time I'm working on sequencing and go back to over-dub a sample from a different pad , the new sample either doesn't get recorded or gets put in the place of another sample previously laid in my sequence. I'm in over-dub mode and not in record mode.

Also, any particular reason why my 2500 adds filters and sometimes effects to my samples?? without me doin it myself.

I just time travelled from a 60 to a 2500 so I'm hoping these are some 2008 issues that can easily be explained by someone who's lived in 2008 longer than me

What OS are you using??? Sounds like a bug...

My guess would be that you have the pads set to MUTE GROUP causing the other sample to go away... If you do then dont use OVER DUB. Just record your second set on a different TRACK.

I record all my stuff on different TRACKS. Usaully by the end of doing a beat I end up with about 6-10 TRACKS to make up just 1 whole SEQUENCE.

I asked a friend of mine who uses the 4000, he said it sounded like a "mute group" issue.
I'm gonna hit the manual hard today, do you know where i control that? remove that function?

Yeah dude if you have not read the manuel....
I'd suggest you start reading.

MUTE GROUPS is under PROGRAM.

But read the manuel. Im serious...
