Help for a beginner on the MPC3000LE

Hi,

i have looked into the manual but i haven't find something yet.

How to set the sample to be played only during the time you are pressing the pad.
I mean, now if i press and then release it the sample plays but keep on playing while
the pad is not pressed anymore, i would like that the sample stops play when i release
the pad.

Must be easy to answer for long time users ... !?

Just press the programs/sounds button, then press "2." On the right side of the screen, switch the mono or poly to "Note on." Problem fixed... the sample will only play as long as you hold the pad down.

but the fonction available is note "off" not note "on" !?

the decay fonction seems not to work in this mode ..., because i want it to stop
the sample when i release the pad, but not abruptly ...
how to engage the decay in this mode ? it did nothing now
even with max decay value ... !?

if you use decay with note off you have to hold the pad until the decay kicks in
if not then no decay will be initiated
the decay must be longer than the note off
but theres really no need to use them both at the same time on the same sample
youll probably get better results by just using more efficient chopping or using the Cutoff function
that way the sample will stop playing when you press the next pad no matter how long it is

I thought the decay just never worked with note off all together. So what happens when the decay mode is set to begining of the sound? I will have to try and report back.

I have one more thing to ask you, well it's a little bit strange but i need to be sure.

I can remember a menu in the MPC 3000 where we can apply some process
on a sample like, change the sample rate or resolution, reverse, pitch etc and a
lot of other effect, somethin like the Studio 440.

But i can't find back this menu and doesn't find anything in the manual.

I begin to believe that i have just !! dreamed !! about it but this doesn't exist, i must be mad ...

lol please help !!!

Sample rate or bit depth can not be changed on the 3000. You can reverse the sample in the sample edit screen, and pitch can be changed in the sample edit screen or the envelope screen. You can have fun with the filter and delay instead.
