A new "monitor" ???

You mean a new "display" or "lcd backlight" ?

Or ... do you mean another part of your MPC60.

Where in Australia are you located ?

Thats what i thought.. I checked them, then got a cat who knew a little (lot) more then me to have a look and he came up with nothing more then a theory that i might have toasted the chipset.. is this a possibility?

The new screen i ordered came with a new board but no connector - i attempted to take the connector of the old screens board - clumsily!

now i've got it to a stage where the screen lights when i turn it on but theres no text - the disk doesnt even seem to load either...

bummed!!!! :(

Take it to this guy named Dundee, he stays down in the bush, near the Outback steakhouse, on Koala Boulevard. He's real handy with a knife. :)

mate i know you're just playing... but that kind of comment is pretty lame... we've had to endure that sh*t since the 80s.

Hey again all - thanks for (most of) the replies, I'll even wear a few flimsy piss takes if I can get my baby fixed..

Its the lcd screen, I've got the mansell lab upgrade and the old chip set, and I'm in Sydney

PM me and I will put you onto the best remaining tech in Sydney who can sort your MPC60 out.

As for the http://www.mansell-labs.com upgrade... ( note: not for the MPC60 )

Unless you are one of my MPC3000 os upgrade customers then you might be mixing up the http://www.rogerlinndesign.com upgrade for the MPC60 with the http://www.mansell-labs.com one for the MPC3000... a different thing all together.

It's great to see so many (well, more than i expected) australian heads on here. Apart from a couple of my friends, i thought i was the only person in sydney with a MPC 60 / 3000.

You guys got myspaces? PM me please..
