problems with saving and loading

just got my mpc 1000 and I am still learning the basics of everything. I have made a few beats using samples from cds and basic library drum sounds. I try to save them, but when I try to load them the next time it wont work. for example, last night I made a sequence with about 5 small samples and some drums. I was pretty hyped on it. I saved entire memory just to make sure nothing could go wrong. then when I tried to load it later I only got bits and pieces. the program and pads sounds loaded. the samples loaded. the sequence tempo was correct but the name was sequence 6 instead of "jazz" and when i pressed play start all i got was the metronome.

I guess Im wondering if there is any easy way to save and load your beats if they are in sequence or song form. im really confused right now and a little frustrated with spending hours on the mpc and then "losing" it when i power it off.
