mpc60 controlling keyboards/external samplers

If i wanted to control say an asr10 or eps16 with my mpc60 how would i be able to use the 8 tracks sequenicing with the 60???? I tried midi track 1a 2a etc ddnt work then i tried 1a 1b 2b etc wouldnt work. anyone here know whassup with that combo?

i was trying to figure out the same thing and how to use the pads of my 60 to play corresponding s950 samples by midi but the 60 pads dont seemto wanna match the midi notes

Each sample on your S950 must be assigned ( keygroup ) to the midi note number corresponding to your pad , basic midi (read the manual)

DONT use the default pad/midi note number settings... you should ALWAYS work with your pads/midi note numbers assigned SEQUENTIALLY...


the info is here on the forums and i have typed it at least 25 times myself... SEQUENTIAL MIDI NOTE NUMBERS ASSIGNED TO PADS SEQUENTIALLY WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE 100000X EASIER WHEN WORKING WITH EXTERNAL SAMPLERS... remember, even the MPC's sequencer doesnt recognize pad numbers, it ONLY recognizes MIDI NOTE NUMBERS, which should ALWAYS be assigned SEQUENTIALLY to your pads...

I agree , it's really easier but for me it's a different , each of my external sampler has a default mpc 60 note number assignement ( i did that once for the 4 pad banks ) that i load everytime .
