1st post...1st MPC...Quick Question

I tried to search the site and clicked in tutorials but didnt see a clear answer.

what i basically wanna know is...once i open my box can i just start DOING stuff right then? or will it be like when i got my 1st set of Technics and found out "oh isht! i still need to go spend $150 on cartidges!?"?

so what all will i need right away no matter what?

Depends on what you bought it with, Common upgrades are RAM and a HD. You will need basic wiring to connect to your sample source but yes you can pretty much get right to work out of the box.

so basic RCA/Monster cables will work?

i hope this joint comes with the manual...

i just know once i get it home i'm not gonna want to run out n track down cables, wires, etc...

the CF card isn't necessary?

it should come with a 128meg CF card. you'll want to upgrade to a bigger card or a HD soon though.

Well as far as wiring it wont have any so you will need to pick up some 1/4" cables. The CF card is included even though it aint huge you can link up to you PC and transfer files therefore keeping space available. I personally advise getting the HD and RAM as soon as possible. Also stay away from Monster cables, all they are is expensive, they do nothing but make your pockets skinny. TRUST ME. And lastly get the JJOS. Theres a sticky on top of the thread with all the details about it.

when i 1st power it on will it say how much ram i have?

i'd like to know before i buy it and the dude at music go round doens't know anything about it...............allegedly

is all about ram that is proved to work for the 1000

And check youtube. You'll get alot of info there. If you have never had an MPC and you wanna get an idea of what to do, check the vids there. I learned so much from youtube.
