umm, song mode is very frustrating and hard to learn. if i was you, track all of your individual sequences out into a programs (cubase, pro tools, or even audacity) etc., then arrange them as you want inside the program.

im not familiar with garageband at all, i dont have a Mac. but im sure it has some sort of record button feature. all you have to do is hit play on your 500, (make sure to have the 1-bar metronome on so that you'll be able to record the whole sequence), and before the sequence actually starts playing, hit record in the garageband. do this to every sequence you got and just copy them mulitple times to complete the song. you dont necessarily need an interface to do this. just an input slot in your computer and one of these:

that's a 3.5 male stereo to two 1/4 male mono. the 2 1/4 male's go into the 500's outputs and the 3.5 stereo goes into the computers input slot.

no problem. this is just how i do it though, im certain there are other ways to track out. certainly throught a mixer, but i dont have one yet, so i wouldnt exactly know how until i **** around with one myself.

i got an Alesis IO26 comin in the mail any day now so, that should definetly help things around a bit.

good luck dawg!

Hey, what's so difficult in the Song mode? You have to arrange your sequences in the right order. You can make some of them repeat various times as well. After everything is all right, you may export your song as a sequence. It is quite simple in fact.

HOW IS IT DIFFICULT IN SONG MODE??!?!!?!? you simply assign each sequence to a number in order of how you want your song to play out...transfer the whole song to a new sequence, and resample to get your whole song to .wav and put it on your computer and burn it!!!! MPC's are not that hard to use!
