Any good sample sites out there?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good sites that had lots of samples to chop up??? Well I've been playing with this 2500 for a couple of days and man this thing is out of control I love it. I had a couple of minor glitches but I was able to over come them. Oh I would really like to be able to sync with software for the ultimate hook up, so if anyone knows how to do this please drop a line. I would like to hook up to reason.... If u could maybe post a diagram on where every wire and plug goes and maybe which settings in the mpc and reason needs to be adjusted please let me know.... Thanks.......E

I heard iTunes has a lot of 'samples.'

Reason cannot sequence external MIDI devices.

You could use your MPC as a $1500 MIDI controller for Reason though.

youtube downgrades the audio to the worst quality possible. I hate the sound from youtube. Worst part is, I dont even complain about the quality of MP3s like the super picky people.

what about building urself a break knowledge... revisit old tracks... and ull find some stuff.. take ur old rap albums.. if u have any.. and look at the sample credits... look out for those artists.. its a good start... OOOOOOR i could drop the... http://www.the-breaks.co'.... NAH I CANT!

1.)There are to many sample site to name. Your on your own there.

2.)Check out you tube for tutorials on how to make your MPC-2500 sequence reason. (there's tons of them up there.)

well look at it like this, all the songs that are on the internet half the world has access to. 3 billion people could be sampling the same tracks you find on the internet. A lot of old vinyl just isn't popular enough to be re-released on cd then ripped to the internet. Any song on the internet has to be popular enough that someone would go out of their way to rip it, post it, and enough people were into it to distribute it. So if you really want to dig go to salvation army or look through grandma's records.

i used to get a lot of great samples by searching the web for things like ‘bass.wav’, or ‘kick.wav’ there's a skill to searching the internet that's much easier to learn, and much more productive than digging vinyl. of course that's merely in contrast to the insurmountable benefits to recording vinyl. but for those sample based producers less experienced in the world of recording, you might take advantage of the fact that internet digs often result in higher quality, prechopped, samples.

because the mpc converts analog sounds into digital, and because few people are cutting vinyl these days, the analog vrs digital sample argument is sort of a moot. if you get a super clean scratch and pop free sample off a record then put it in the mpc cut a track to cd or mp3, in the end there wasn't any reason not to get the same sample off a cd. i can't recommend youtube for sampling, because the audio is compressed to shit. but there are more media formats out there than vinyl. try digging your local haunt for cds and records, but also dig the cassette section, vhs and dvd. rent movies and audio books from the library. Share sample libraries with your crew.
