please clerify

i am planning on getting a 60
my question is, will i get the same sound if i load sounds from a floppy as i would if i sampled straight into the 60

i have kits that i have made, and would want to use on the 60, would i have to sample them into the 60 to get the sound of the 60, or does it treat sounds loaded from disk the same way as stuff you sample

to get the true sound of the sixty - sample your kits into it. A lot of work (actually is REAL quick and easy), but trust me, it's worth it.

you can load up from disk, and it still sounds sweet, but just not AS sweet.

Put in the time, sample your kits in, and you will never look back...

I'd disagree, if you have the kits, just convert them on your computer and load them from floppy, it does sound better when you sample, but it isn't a huge difference. Sample your new kits directly, load your old kits through floppy, too much work to do again, we are after all making music, and so need time to do it.

This may help... if your samples are WAVs, then you'll need software to convert them to MPC60 format. Do a search for the links... MPC Editor. It's real easy and works great.

every sound individually, chopping in the 60 can take a while.

You could do it either way.......

To get the best results you will want to sample all sounds directly to the 60 to get its magic. I had my mpc2000 for 3 yrs and made hundreds of beats with it. When I bought my 60 and tried to resample my 2000 kits into it, they sounded about the same, maybe a little warmer but not noticably better. But when I sample the same drum into both machines stright from vinyl. WOW you could really tell......

Bottom line...I ended up scrappin my 2000's drum kits that I had built up the last 3 yrs......I still have them but the major drums I used I knew exactly where they are so I just got the records out and resampled them.....damn I'm rambling...LOL ????
