O.k. Now I've read the manual several times, and I still have some issues with things like saving sequences, and saving programs. It seems like everytime I load up a program it comes up the way I've saved it for a previous sequence. Then I have to spend time changes the parameters of every sample back to "normal." Anyways, how can I erase files/samples from the MPC when I have it connected to my computer. I can see "into " the MPC but for some reason can't erase files or moves them to a folder out of the MPC foler. Please help, I'd like to create new kits (programs) but I can't seem to get rid of old stuff.
thanks in advance

a simple thing for you to do is create file structure. give each song you work on its own folder. then save everything that pertains to that song into said folder. isolating each programs settings from the next. you can use the same program infinitely and each time it will have its own settings. as far as working with the mpc and usb........ thats simple mass storage. if you cant figure that out then you should start watching videos on youtube.

^ yup.

i save projects in /projects/dateofproject - works for me, and trackable

and keep a notepad on my desk with the date of the project and the description/sample name

samples go in /samples/kicks, /samples/snares, /samples/hhats etc.

thats almost identical to how i do it. its very manageable. especially with the large volume of project files i have. and its how i have always done it. its a must to have a hard drive.

I'm still at a loss for figuring out how to transfer files out of the mpc using the usb connection. Anybody who reads this thread and knows how can maybe let me know. If not a link to demo vid is good too!

plug the usb up. go to the load\save screen and hit usb. should show up as a new drive icon on your pc. you can browse and drag files back and forth from there.
