Playing Midi instrument and can hear my snare at the same ti

For years I have been using my MPC for the sequence and Midi features since the PC has become a valued use for a database and unlimited source of power.

Most of us have PC or MAC's and have DAW apps such as Protools, Cubase or Nuendo.

My question here is I know you can turn off the internal pads so you cannot hear the sounds you have loaded internally on the MPC.

I am using my MIDI keyboard which the (Keystation 88 PRO is decent and i would recommend for the low price).

How can i program say drums with the loaded sounds on the MPC and then play a MIDI bass instrument from one of my VSTI's with out hitting a pad that has my snare or kick on it.

I have done this years back on the 2000 series but like I said for the past 4 years I have been just using the sequencer and miding only.

any help out there and yes I did read the manual

On the midi track, turn off the assigned program for that track. If you want to put the mpc in local off mode, it is in the 'midi/other' screen, I think, called "pad to internal sound".

In the (Main Screen) Turn your Pgm: to Pgm: OFF, or to Pgm:No. 1, and set the appropriate MIDI ch for that track. Hope this helps Peace!!!!!!!!!!!
