OS 1.02 Bug Report

Don't know if this is a bug or not but you can't mixdown a beat to CF card. This message pops up if you try "Can't access device"

BUG : If you delete a track while in solo mode every tracks remain in solo mode, no way to unsolo them

How to :

Do a small beat with, let s say, 4 tracks

Solo track 4 Hit window & delete the track

I also still have a lot of FX engine messages when starting up the MPC

A bug yes but not a huge deal. I can press the UNDO button an start over again with the track unsoloed. BTW, I never get an FX engine message on start up. Are you using your own autoload?

How long did you get the MPC ?

I have this message about 1 time each 20 start up


Even if i start the MPC empty i got it ( no autoload )

got a bad issue with the undo button...

while making a sequence, if I press undo more then about 3 seperate times(give or take), and then Record and Play, time after time, it would end up freezing... this doesnt happen in the MPC 3000 or MPC 2000XL.... so i know its not user error

You will have to provide a step by step guide to reproduce the bug. I can't reproduce it based upon what you wrote.

I definitly use the undo button a lot & never had any freeze with it.

I reproduce it everytime i get to work on that machine heavily. You just make a sequence, undo, try it again about 3 or 4 times, and then when you hit record and play and start playing, it will just sit there in the middle of recording a sequence with a just the play and record buttons lit up, but you can still press the pads and get sounds.

you mean record, undo, record again, undo, record again, undo etc... ?

i always work on the fly like that i nver had any freeze

though i ll try it again as soon as possible

try to give us the most precise steps to do

4dahaterz, you have 1.02 installed? Have you tried reinstalling the OS and re-initializing the 5K? Also, are you creating a sequence using sample programs, synth programs, external MIDI, etc?

Askia, you should know good and well i got all my stuff up to date.... however, i am running 1.02(while im in the 1.02 bug report) creating a sequence with sampled drums and sometimes MIDI, same results. Even on another 5000 my partner uses, they got the same issue. By the way, these cats have made numerous songs that have been on major albums and etc... for the past decade on MPC's using the same production style so that user error stuff doesnt fly with us or their personal salesman.

I still suggest re-installing the OS and re-initialze your MPC 5K again. Then see if you can reproduce this problem.

You mean those guys are better & know better cause they are on major albums ?

You know there s a lot of people here who do not claim who they are, what they do or what they v done....that doesn t mean they are noobs

Anyway i m not telling you or your friends are noobs but please try to give us a real & precise step by step cause i tried many times yesterday to reproduce this bug & didn t managed to...

My friend ( you don t need to know who he is ) who also have a 5000 didn t managed to either.

my point about that was, the same as yall an the excuse about.... THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING(when they do, by the way, i can care less about noobs or not, if you get it to freeze, the joint isnt suppose to lock up)... real talk homie, I know if its an issue or not, I dont know how else to tell you to get it to freeze. Im not about to keep debating on here about an issue we know thats there.

Maybe...if you can ... provide us a simple video of the bug then we can try it out.

I told you how i proceed maybe i m not doing the same thing ...

record, undo, record undo etc.....more than 20 times ..no freeze here

Do you have the optionnal memory ?

I dont ...maybe try without it to see if it happens
