Freezing

I've had my 2500 for more than a year and never had any issues except for the saving bug, but worked around it. The last couple of times I've sat down in front of my MPC and created a new folder it froze on me. I had to shut it off and of course I lost what I had worked on. What is going on?

What size hard disk are you using? Is it getting full?

i have the 80 gig harddrive. I doubt that I've filled it up. In my save window it says I have 75905MB free space. I'm running OS version 1.23 just so you know.

Update to the latest akai os, 1.24, back up the HD and reformat it. This is a known bug on the akai 1.23 os, AFAIK.

Thanks, I figured it might be a bug. I just thought it was kind of weird how I never had that problem before. I hope I don't lose my work in the process. Oh well, not that many good things just a couple of beats I really do like. . .

Always back up your work! Keep two separate copies of things that you like and have spent a lot of work on.

I don't feel to comfortable with third party stuff. I'm not saying JJOS is a bad thing, but it probably has some issues too.
