i'm noticing in some discussions that people are saying to get a scsi cd rom drive instead of zip drives.

I have a Mac G4. why cant' i use the cd player that comes in my mac? won't that work as a cd rom?

i do have an additional "drive" on my mac that's empty... maybe that can have scsi cd rom installed?

this is starting to be very confusing....
thanks for the help....PC.

duh, of course you can save your shit to zip drives!......cause if you're gonna be doing any serious production on your machine, then having billions of floppies is gonna get old fast.....in the mean while just think about it.....your best bet would be to get an internal one(I dont think you could handle an external one based on your post but prove me wrong)...youwould also need one for your computer as well, that way you can transfer data back and forth(thats back and forth between mpc and computer).....and before you ask-the mpc cannot save to cdIT CANNOT BURN CD'S!!

my idea is to just get 1 zip drive. it will be hooked up to the mpc and the computer. right?

ok fine.

do you mean a usb to scsi zip? that exists?
so the zip would go in USB to my mac and then go out scsi?

youll need 2 zip drives. You cannot chain them btw. mpc and pc/mac.

ok fine.

NO the usb zip drive will connect to your mac thats it then the SCSI zip drive will connect to your mpc. You can then load wav samples from your mac onto a zip disk take it from the usb zip and put that disk into the scsi zip drive to use on the mpc.

Good luck..really

homie, what these guys are telling you is valuable information.

the scsi zip is for the mpc. the usb zip is for the computer. when you have TWO (2) your able to take data from your computer to your mpc and vice versa.

internal/external...i never saw the difference. but i recommend you purchasing two zips. if you dont like 2 spend money this aint the game for you. cause there's money involved.

believe me.
