I have a question to the MPC experts out there about my MPC 1000. I just bought it and want to connect it to monitor speakers. I also want the sound from the speakers to work with both the MPC and the computer. For example, if I want to watcha movie on my computer or make beats on my MPC. I want it all connected as one. Do I need an Audio Interface or what?

One that states on the manufacturers website that it's fully compatible with Vista.

I always thought that the transformation from consumer to pro audio was a bit painful. :x YIKES

All right, answer this. Why us it when you download a whole song into the MPC 1000, it will let you hear the whole song, but not sample any part of it you want. It is usually the beginning??? Whats up with that??...

Answer me this, you have not been reading the manual have you? Haven't you followed the instructions in the manual on how to edit samples?

No, why not?

Man, that manuals whack, it confusing and has typos and shit. I just bout the monitors today, and the interface. I got the monitors to work with the computer, but not the MPC. I'm connecting the MPC to the interface via MIDI. I can't hear shit out the monitors when I hit a pad. I'm not sure if MIDI is the right damn plug. Shit is confusing. I don't even know what the MIDI cable does with the interface. Do I need some XLR or 1/4 cables?? Only time I can hear sound out from the MPC to the monitors is when I hook up the MPC to the computer thru USB. What the hell does the MIDI cable do anyway?? I want to hear the MPC live when I hit the pads!

So there's no where in the manual that shows a diagram of a suggested connection scenario? Plus if you can't read the manual, then go to Akai Pro's website and download it.
Also familiarise yourself with the technical aspects of things by going here: http://www.tweakheadz.com.

If navigating through & understanding the contents of the suggested site seems confusing, then maybe this stuff ain't your cup of tea.

Man...my cup of Tea?? Your telling me how I like my tea based on what tha hell the manual shows as a set-up? I am trying to do the set-up differently. I don't have the funds to go out get shit all over the place. I have to work with what I got. I got an interface, monitors, a computer and a damn MIDI cable, which I think is why I can't play live thru the speakers. Thats all I **** want!! Don't tell me whats my cup of tea, because I like short-cuts! Thanks for the positive feedback.
