MPC 2000xl good deal? additional nec equipment?

Hey guys whats up? I came across a guy willing to sell me a working MPC2000xl for $450. It has the machine and the power cord included. Is this a good deal? Also, I want to sample using you 2 turntables and mixer and I want to feed this all to my computer (Cubase/Pro Tools) so I can use Reason with it. I also have 2 DJ PA speakers that I want to use as monitors and I want to be able to record what my friend spits with a mic. So is the $450 a good price and what additional equipment do I need to do what I want? Thanks

oh yeah and i also want to be able to load samples that are on my pc (drum hits/mp3s) into my mpc

have u checked what used mpc2kxl's go for?

yeah but only a retard would pay 2000 for any mpc especially when reason is a good free substitute.

With a statement like that, I take that you've never used an mpc before. Plus I get a kick outta reading what some of y'all think is an exceptable alternative to a mpc.

so then use reason. plus where the fcuk did u see a used 2kxl for $2k?

u said what they originally went for. i read they sold for 2k at one point. i dont think reason is as good as an mpc based on youtube vids. but then again u cant bootleg a machine.

i never said anything about what the mpc originally went for.

and if ur research is based on youtube videos, please do more research

joining this forum is the best decision i made. i never realized how helpful people were and that all info in the world was at my fingertips!

Although it's a no brainer to do this with the 2kxl (floppys, zips and or cardreader), it'll work better going about this with a newer model mpc that sports a usb connection.

Plus, I guess the reason many folks don't get the help around here they're looking for is because, many want you to not only teach them to fish, but they want you to do the fishing for them.

i can understand the fishing metaphor but the guy gave me no way of finding out the info. maybe if he said here go to these sites http://www.mpcporn.com etc then id be able to find out something. otherwise its like handing someone a fishing rod in a desert and telling them to go fish
