American Audio TT-Record MP3 USB Turntable(i been told you don't need a dj mixer to power these. just can hook it right up to the mpc or mbox 2)
mpc 1000
macbook pro running reason 4.0 as a sound module
akai midi controller
mbox 2 with pro tools.
sony vaio computer speakers and a sub

is this set up all i need to begin with it?

the only thing i can see is that you gotta get the sounds from your MAC to your PC.

i don't think you said you had an audio interface for you mac.

but yes, ...you can use your mac as if it were a "hardware" "reason"/soundmodule, as long as you have a descent interface for it.

...and record it, along with your MPC into Protools LE.
that should work just fine.

and turntable as well, although i'd mainly use it for the MPC, ...but it should have the connections you need already within it.

you should be just fine with this, ....but everytime you set it up, you have to pay the piper by spending enough time with it to truly learn the setup itself, as every setup has a different and unique "flow" to it.

good luck.

ur asking the wrong question homie, all u need is a computer or and mpc nothing else is required u want someone to validate ur setup but as equipment choice is down to personal preference no one can answer that question.

i should of put more detail into this post.

basically, i already have my mac running reason. i just recently decided after messing around with my homie's mpc for hours, i figure damn this is dope! anyways i was just trying to figure how am i gonna configure the mpc and use reason as sound module(build those basslines, ambiance, melodies, etc.) so, what i'm trying to say is how am i gonna be able to hear the sounds from the mpc and reason together with these decent computer speakers that i have? (since pro monitors are out of my budget.) is mixer truly gonna have to be involved? or would this mbox 2 be perfect to use?

also
i was told from the owner of the store (easy music center hawaii), who's a mpc guy himself, said that the audio interface is pretty much all i need if i wanna get the sounds from the mpc and reason to come out.

this true?

thanks bradas!

To be honest, it would be a waste of time suggesting what you should get. But instead of you listening to everybody, why not do a little of your own research so that you'll know what fits best for you.

Example: nobody told me to purchase a 24 channel 8 buss mixer along with two 16 channel audio interfaces. I filled myself up with as much know how on gear, that I got hyped off of myself for knowing what I wanted. The same can be said for anybody that wants anything bad enough.

And just because the masses go out and jump on one thing, doesn't mean I've got to do it too. :|

Yo Ludma, your setup is better than most around here. Add an additional HD and you should be set. Also the best teacher for a situation like this is yourself.

We don't know how you're going to go about doing things with your setup. There's no universal way of doing this. What will work for one kat doesn't neccessarily mean it's the script for everybody else's ethics.
