I don't have the funds to go out get **** all over the place. I have to work with what I got. I got an interface, monitors, a computer and a damn MIDI cable, which I think is why I can't play live thru the speakers. Thats all I **** want!! Don't tell me whats my cup of tea, because I like short-cuts! Thanks for the positive feedback.

Dude, no offense to you or anybody else that wants to wear these pants, but what's up with this instant gratification stuff. I've been a firm believer of "take your time to ground yourself first with knowledge & know how". This seems to be an issue with many and I can't understand it to save my life. Then after we point out what direction folks must go to gain ground in this stuff, we're criticized about how we're going about giving them the info they need to get started.

This new crop of folks don't want to pay dues of any count it seems like, because they're always looking for shortcuts. To be honest, I do know what I think of these folks, but I'll keep it to myself for right now. It's a trip and a joke at the same time. :? Even though I mentioned that it might not be your cup of tea, I personally have to look the other way a say to myself...this sh!t looks more like an g.d. instant tea party if you ask me.

you know what? I just bought the 1/4 inch cables to replace the MIDI to the interface. By the way, I got a Edirol UA-25 inetrface. I got the cheapest 1/4 in. cables from Radio Shack. I bought two for the left and right inputs. That shit worked! I could press a pad and it would register to the monitors. I could play live and the computer sound registerd. All the sudden, when I pressed a pad on the MPC, it din't work no more, no more sound. What tha ****! The peak/Limiter light was on and shit, and now thats not registering. Thats on the interface, a green light registering the MPC's connection to sound. Thats why i keep asking questions, because the manual isn't telling me shit about trouble shooting. I tried websites and everything. So does any abody think I need more powerful 1/4 inch cables??? Appreciate the response...

To reply to your response about cup's of tea. I know what I want, so by whatever means necessary, I will try to get it, economy permitting. So thats why I ask question and respect short-cuts because sometimes, in some instances, thats what you got to do. I'm sure you understand. On the possible pre-meditation that you may think of me as a rook to this, it is true, but when you've wanted something so long and you finally get it, you kind of want to master the subject quite fast. learn if you will. On the other hand my ultimate goal is to get down, jam out, and be creative. I know you feel that shit.

There you go, dig in and do some work. I understand the eagerness that comes with learning this stuff. Plus you gain respect for yourself as well as for those who have laid the ground work so that we can enjoy doing stuff like this at our own leisure.

Of course it may seem mind boggling in the begining, but if you just stick with it & push yourself, it'll make you that much better at handling whatever the challenge may be.

Man..I'm gettin rid of that audio Interface. I don't think it can hadle the power of the MPC, Computer, and 70 watt speakers. Gonna have to come up with some kind of concoction. Hopefully I'll figure this out. I better! Any feedback will be appreciative. By the way, I guess that manual helps a little, i was just fustrated with this equptment sitting around and not knowing where to start...should go have a cup of tea and calm down... :?

if you are trying to use a midi cable as an audio cable, then you really need to read through the manual. if you are looking for "more powerfull cords" then you really need to read up on audio recording. everything you've posted sort of leans to your enexperiance with not only the machine, but audio production in general. i would recommend getting the akai xr-20. i think it'll be much more suited to your needs.

also, if all you want to do is watch movies on your computer and bang out drums, with out the tedious process of switching cables, all you really need is a splitter.
