4outs trouble...this sux!...no pan right!

i'm trying to send the pads out through the outs and i can get the initial (1st) sound. my trouble is i can't get more than 1 sound to play at the same time. i've tried panning both pads. 1/2.....L/R and my right pan wont work. that seems to be the problem. a hard left pan always works but a hard right pan never works. i even tried doing one sound on 1/2 and the other on 3/4 (panned or unpanned) but the right side wont work. i've tried everything and def read the manual. seems more like trouble with the mpc not panning to the right side. any suggestions??? this is certainly limiting me recording into the pc. i can only do 1 sound at a time now whereas i could be doing 4 or 6. frustration!!

did you try doing the same thing with the main outs? do you get the same results? Try panning different pads and the main outs. What you get?

it does the same exact thing with the main outs. Soon as its fully panned hard right i cant hear the sound at all. could it have to do with the 1/4 trs jack im using? i dont know what to do..thanks for the reply effekt

hmmm... weird. Try one more thing. Plug headphones in front of the MPC and then try panning again. If this dosn't work that there is a strong possibility that some parts of your MPC hardware are not doing their job.
Be sure to use mono samples, and try with the headphones out.

Let me know what happend.

You could try swapping your left/right audio cables. If the pan left doesn't work after the swap, then you'll know it is the cable. If the pan right still doesn't work, then you'll know the problem is on the MPC end.

(just try a new - and the same - audio cable in all your outputs)

i think we may be getting somewhere! when i used the headphone jack the pans work fine. however, when i switched the cords as u suggested stephen, the right pan worked and the left didnt. also, just to clarify this situation, when i'm saying which side worked, the sounds are still balanced. ie. i panned hard left and can hear everything on both sides but as i pan right the sound decreases. once fully panned right there is no sound. i think maybe it has to do with the cables not quite sure.maybe cause the sound is being sent out "balanced". if this IS the case. what do i need to do to send out through the outs?

If you said the hadphones are working then the main outs should work as well, because they are interconnected inside the MPC.

where do you plug your outputs to? a mixer? sound card? Check the cables and make sure that the device that is receiving sound from the MPC, is not panning it or modifying it in anyways.

I have it connected to my tascam us-122...could it be because it's inputs are balanced? I don't see why it would though.

I doubt your MPC is defective. Try using a new cable first. You can plug your headphones into the individual outs to see if the signal is there. You'll probably only hear it in one speaker of your headphone, because those individual outs aren't setup to drive a stereo signal into headphones. Finally, make sure your mixer channel isn't muted, has the gain/volume down, or isn't making it to the main mix & monitors somehow.
