MPC500 v. MPC3000

3k all day for me!

That 500,is a toy MPC to me..And that's got nothing to do with the features it has against 3k,yep is the winner.But, it's all about inspiration to me..so with a game-boy-like MP i feel like i'm just f*ckin' with the box,not doing some serious work.If i want to have a portable VHS type-of sampler,i stuck on the Yamaha SU10,keepin' it old school.

A built like a tank kind of machine with 16 drumpads compaired to a smaller with the size of a tabloid machine with 12 pads, less outs, Same bit depth and sampling rate, but the 3k sounds better. Chopping goes faster on the 3000, same polyphony, same type of sequencing facilities...The only thing that the 3000 doesn't has is cf and usb. But that wouldn't bother me at all in this situation. This is real easy. 3k baby..

I have a 500 and love it, but the 3000 is (in my opinion) the second best MPC on the marked (after the 4000 ).

Depends entirely on your needs...

Personally, I would rock the 500 allllllllllll day long over the 3k.

Why? I can take it with me to work and flesh out ideas on my lunch break. Bang out an idea while on a long trip with the ever blabbing GF or on a cross country flight perhaps?

Battery powered and portable? No contest for me. But then again.... I already have a 60mk1.

This thread is kind of silly.

of course a 3000...fully expanded.
But if somebody gave me a 500 to use instead i wouldnt be mad at all.

I mean hell you get an EQ and compressor with filters with a ton of memory right out the box with a 500, cant get that with a 3K.
