That's right scsi4 , I thought there was something stopping me.
Hey at least I got one in my xl.
I will do a search and see what I can find since I never had a card reader or used one in an xl , there must be many things I need to learn.
Hey scsi4 thanks for all your help too man.
Now back to hooking up my 3000.

im also getting the "no floppy device" message with this reader. i looked over both your pics many times and i blieve i have it plugged in the same way as mekishiko w/ the supplied Y cable and modded power cbale w/ only black and red (which works w/ my zip drive). i tried flipping the ide cable, nuthin.
the only difference i can see is that im using a kingston 1gb cf card...i dont have nay other cf cards...maybe i should try another card? im bout to take some pics and post them. maybe i overlooked something. much much thanks goes to out to yall for the pics and all that. i just hope i can ge tmine to work.

dont worry homie , we're here and we got ours working so we will help you too.
As far as I know , kingston cards work with MPC card readers.
Then again , maybe this one is picky.
I had another card in here and it was giving me "no floppy device".
I put in the PNY which was no more expensive , and that is working great.
Double check your wires and I will look at your pics in case I spot something.

Yeah your jumper is set right , cables are in right , etc.
Like I said , perhaps this card reader is very picky.
Try the PNY I have or the sandisk that he has.
You KNOW these work.

Yo 714 , did you have to do that rebate thing and if so , was it instant?
If you did not use a rebate where did you get them at that price?

And here is a photo of the one I have.
Sorry , I took it with my phone cause my digital cam batteries are dead.

Glad it's working for you man.
I kept saying maybe this drive is picky and I guess I was right.
Good move getting a card that was proven to work and I already know how you feel after finally getting a card reader and a low priced one at that.
Happy to be able to help.
Spread the word about this card reader and let's all grab that thing before they run out or raise the price.
I might just buy a back up.

ermmm, that site will only accept payments from american express, jcb card or bank transfer (im getting it sent to the uk by the way). I don't have either of those cards and they want to change me an extra $35 for a bank transfer. wtf?
