I would guess no.

It goes like this: My friend borrowed an mp6011. The guy told him to do himself a favor and leave the thing on cause it warms up and sounds better ??? . that may be true but personally I wouldn't leave it on for more than a few days if I wasn't using it. It's been on for 4 weeks now and he prolley just uses it once every 3 or 4 days to sample some snares and kicks.
It's none of my bisiness really but I'm just concerned that it might burn out. As he's only borrowed it he would have to pay for repairs witch could be costly. I expressed this but as his "MPC master" has told him otherwise, it was piontless. I'm sure the guy meant to leave it on for a few days when using it.
Any thoughts, opinions or experiences would be appreciated.

Turn it off.

You can't properly enjoy that "sound" if the screen is burned out and you can't work properly.

It's already old, so more care should be taken.

Why some people do that I will never know.

Yep I would agree. The backlight has already gone. Can the screen be more f##ked than that?

Cats taking that "warmer" sound bidness a little too literal.

2nd that!

Lord Jesus, NO MACHINE AT ALL SHOULD STAY ON THAT LONG! Except you got some super server piece.

I can't believe how dumbheads like these guys always get their hands on babies like the mk2.

This made me chuckle

How can something thats basically digital warm up ?

I'm just off to warm up some CD's in the oven so they sound better when I play them.

Peace

I've heard people suggesting to leave something like a tube mic preamp on for while to the let the tubes warm up, but the idea of leaving the mpc on to make it sound warmer is nothing but BS - it'll sure get physically warm, but the sound won't change.
