What can't this do that the MPC 1000 can? I'm basically just looking for a list of features that the 1000 has and this doesn't. Also, what are some nice things and neat features that the 2000 classic CAN do? Is the 2000 classic atleast a decent MPC to use for beatmaking these days? Or is it so old that the newer features make the 1000 a way better machine to get?

2000 can deffinatly suffice to make beats now adays. id say one thing that the 2000 has over the 1000 is size.

the 1000 on the other hand has effects stock (the 2000 you need to buy the fx card)

basically if your limited on cash get the 2000 but if you can, get the 1000, inless size is a big issue for you.

I've heard the 2000 Classic can't do some things like time stretch. Can it also not do pitch shift? What effects and features specifically is it lacking?

Also, what does this effects card include? What dont you have without it? Just effects? Do time stretch and pitch shift count as effects?

The effects card for 2k/2kxl is detailed in the 2kxl manual.

Time stretch details can be found in the 2kxl manual.

The effects for the 1k is detailed in the 1k manual.

In short, get all 3 manuals and compare the differences.
