been countless times, and i'm in south orange county (near sd county) so driving up there is a trek... takes about an hour, but seriously worth it. fyi $5 parking

i'd say bring a portable table if you have one, headphones, a mixture of bills (large and small) and an appetite for some bomb ass hotdogs. don't bring your girlfriend if you have one, she'll be interested in the antiques for an hour and will get bored afterwards. trust.

dudes will bargain with you too if you buy a bunch of records... but i spend a lot of time digging through all their bargain bins so they wont cut the price down much on those. there is a japanese guy and his wife that have some gems... they own a store somewhere in LA that supposedly dilla and others used to dig at, look out for him... and a black family that sets up near a van that has some fire too. look for the tattoo'd guy with grey hair and a pony tail too, he's got some goodies in the bargain section - he'll be there for sure. theres also a lady with red hair that is a little on the manly side but cool as hell that gave me the shaft soundtrack for free when i bought a bunch of her shit one time.

I live in Pasadena and it's dope! Go early!! I've seen Madlib there a few times! Watch out for the Japanese kids, they buy all the good ish! Also, you can negotiate, some dudes are cool others are jerks. There's a lot of good things you can find!

I used to go there all time circa late 90's/early 00's. I'm sure it hasn't changed much. Remember that the early bird gets the worm. Folks who know this show up at 6am. Don't even bother going if you plan to get there at 8am. Everything is picked over by then.

Would like to get out there again, but I have less enthusiasm to do that routine nowadays.
