4000 doesn't see hard drive or cd drive

hey all,
i was making a beat the other day and i saved to the hard drive all good.
then i even loaded a few little ideas off the hard drive i had been working on to play to some clients and called it a night.
got up the next morning and the mpc doesn't see the hard drive or cd drive.
it sees usb card reader from the front.
i'm out to buy a naked hard drive case and plug it in through the front usb to check if the hard drive works.
anyone has a similar problem in the past?
anyone one with any suggestions?
BTW all my mpc files are backed up.

I think this is the season for this type of stuff to happen. Plus most of the posts I've been looking for are soley for this problem.

If you've never taken your mpc apart before, start prepairing to do so. I haven't run into any problems yet myself, but I don't wanna wait for them to occur either. Been looking for a nice Seagate replacement to have before this happens to me too.
