bass distorts?

can anyone help me out...im always getting distortion when i take a bass sound and use 12 levels...i tried to eq the low out the sample but this doesnt work...i know the bass sample is not distorted either...

Turn down the dB on the machine.
Turn down the gain on the mixer.

Something like that

NO! that will make things worse! Distortion is caused by a mismatch of electrical levels (which are controlled by the gain). Compression reduces the dynamic range of a signal, and whilst may make a signal louder on average, it doesnt increase the peak level which causes clip distortion (unless you crank the makeup gain which is obviously the same as any other type of gain).

Can you post some samples: the sample itself, and a recording of it distorting and exactly what is plugged where etc.

i've actually noticed this problem on mine aswell from time to time... most samples work fine, but some over-processed 808 kicks etc seems to shake the shit out of the outputs, even tho theyre way under peaklevels. :S

eh, i think its the low freqs indeed slamming your noise floor on the d/a..use less bass (bass vs headroom).
Check the peaks of the sample, then midi volume on max, then set the amplitube for the sample to an acceptable loudness and crank up your amplifier.

using amplitube a bit too much are we?

amplitube is pure dirth, i love that plug to death but still, crank up the amp, not the sample.
